The Best Sunday Roast in Greenwich? We Think Sot

Sunday should feel like Sunday. That means a proper roast, a cold pint in hand, and absolutely nowhere you need to be. Come and find us at The Admiral Hardy, right in the heart of Greenwich.

There Are Sundays, and Then There Are Proper Sundays If you have ever found yourself on a Sunday morning wondering where to go for a roast that actually feels worth leaving the house for, then pull up a chair. The Admiral Hardy on College Approach in Greenwich has been doing Sundays properly for years, and we are very glad to say the kitchen has never been in better shape. We are one of those pubs in Greenwich that takes the Sunday roast seriously. Not as an afterthought, not as a box-ticking exercise, but as one of the highlights of the week. Because that is exactly what a great roast should be.

The Star of the Show: 28-Day Dry-Aged Sirloin At the heart of our Sunday menu is a 28-day dry-aged sirloin that earns its place on every table it visits. Dry ageing concentrates the flavour and tenderises the meat in a way that nothing else quite replicates. The result is a roast that carves beautifully, eats even better, and makes you wonder why you would ever order anything else on a Sunday.

It arrives with all the things that matter: properly roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables that have been given the attention they deserve, and a rich gravy that ties everything together. This is not pub food that has been stretched to fill a menu. This is a kitchen that knows what Sunday lunch should taste like and executes it with care, every single week. Something for Everyone

Not everyone around the table wants the same thing, and that is absolutely fine by us. Our Sunday menu is built with that in mind. Whether you are after a classic roast, something lighter, or a dish that works for specific dietary requirements, our kitchen is happy to accommodate. We also have a kids menu, so the little ones are well looked after too.

We are dog friendly as well, so if your Sunday involves a walk through Greenwich Park beforehand, your four-legged companion is more than welcome to join you for the main event. The Right Drink to Go with It

The image shows a cozy bar with a wooden counter, illuminated by warm lamps, featuring a variety of liquor bottles and glasses. The counter is adorned with framed pictures and a clock, and the bar is well-stocked with alcohol bottles. A bartender is present, and the atmosphere is inviting and relaxed.

A great Sunday roast deserves a great drink. We have real ales on tap, including our house beer Admiral Best from Battersea Brewery at 4.5%, plus a rotating selection of changing cask ales that we take real pride in. If beer is not your thing, our wine list is thoughtfully put together, and our bar team will always steer you right.

The Admiral Hardy is right next to Greenwich Market, moments from the Cutty Sark, and a short walk from the Thames riverside. The perfect way to spend a Sunday is a walk first, then a roast here, then perhaps another pint before heading home. We will see you at noon. Kitchen serves Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. Booking recommended.
