Why Greenwich Deserves More Than a Day Trip Most people who visit Greenwich arrive with a list. The Cutty Sark. The Royal Observatory. Greenwich Park. The National Maritime Museum. The market. A walk along the Thames. It is a brilliant list, and if you try to do all of it properly, you will quickly realise that one afternoon is nowhere near enough.

Greenwich is one of the very few parts of London that still feels genuinely itself. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with centuries of maritime history at its heart, a park that gives you the best views in the city from the top of the hill, and streets that are genuinely worth wandering without a particular destination in mind. Coming just for the afternoon feels like arriving at a concert twenty minutes before the end. Our suggestion: stay the night. The Admiral Hardy has seven en-suite rooms right in the heart of Greenwich, and waking up here the next morning, with the market beginning to stir downstairs and everything the area has to offer quite literally on your doorstep, changes the experience entirely. Seven Rooms, Each One Different
The seven rooms at The Admiral Hardy are split across the first and second floors, and each has been sympathetically restored to make the most of the building's original Victorian character. These are not anonymous hotel rooms. They have warmth, proper furniture, and the kind of care that goes into a room when the people running the place actually want you to feel at home.
The Deluxe King is the most spacious of the seven. It has a king-size bed plus a sofa bed, making it the ideal choice for families or groups of three or four. It also has panoramic views over Greenwich Market, which is something quite special to wake up to on a Saturday morning.

The Superior King rooms offer a step up in comfort from the Classic rooms, with that same gorgeous view over the market and a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities that the whole building does so well. The two Classic King rooms and three Classic Double rooms are each well-proportioned, comfortable, and fully equipped. Every room across all seven includes a large comfortable bed, free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, a desk, a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits, fluffy towels, toiletries, a hairdryer, and an iron and ironing board. Nothing is missing. Nothing feels like an afterthought.
All rooms are air-conditioned, all are en-suite, and all are available to book directly through admiralhardygreenwich.co.uk. Booking direct gives you the best available rate plus flexible cancellation, so it is always worth going straight to the source. Dog-Friendly Rooms for Four-Legged Guests We are proud to be one of the dog-friendly pubs in Greenwich and that extends to our rooms. If you are travelling with a dog, or two, they are very welcome to stay with you for an additional ten pounds per night. On arrival they will receive a VIP welcome with a doggy hamper full of treats, a bed or blanket, and a bowl. We think they will approve.
Your Day in Greenwich, from Start to Finish Here is what a perfect day in Greenwich actually looks like. You arrive on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, which stops at Greenwich Pier just 300 yards from our door. The river journey alone is worth the trip. You check in, leave your bags, and head straight out. Start at the Cutty Sark, which is quite literally next door. Then walk up through Greenwich Park, past the National Maritime Museum and the Queen's House, all the way to the Royal Observatory at the top of the hill. The view from up there, looking back across London, is one that never gets old. On the way back down, the market is worth a wander: arts, crafts, antiques, street food and the kind of serendipitous shopping that only happens in a good market.

By the time you have done all of that, you are ready for a proper meal and a proper drink. Come back to us. Order from the kitchen. Take your time over it. Then in the morning, have breakfast and do it all over again. To book a room, visit admiralhardygreenwich.co.uk or call 020 8293 9535.
